ELENA ZUCCHINI’S BIO
Elena Zucchini graduated in 2010 with a Master’s Degree from the MusikAkademie der Stadt Basel. Described as «the next rising star of the classical guitar world», Elena begun her career focusing on Italian and contemporary repertoire and, in 2011, her first album was released containing music by Dyens, Scarlatti, Giuliani, Petrassi and Davidovsky.
She has been awarded numerous prizes, including twice receiving Fermo’s Best Student of the Year award and has played for many of the world’s finest guitarists, including David Russell, Stephan Schmidt and Pavel Steidl.
Her main focus is Latin-American music, which she performs as a soloist, with Cuban guitarist Ahmed Dickinson Cárdenas as Habana Suite Duo and with flutist Claire Overbury as Rouge Duo.
